Sydney in the 1970s

Paie grew-up in an unconventional time and place; Potts Point (more commonly known as Kings Cross) in Sydney.  It was Australia's birthplace of the freedom loving 60s and the revolutionary 70s.  In the freedom loving 70s, children were able to freely adventure out and Paie, along with her sister, experienced the colourful street life of the times on a daily basis.  Like most children, Paie was strongly influenced by her mother who has been a leading spiritual medium in Sydney for over 30 years.

Much later in life, as a young adult, Paie trained and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Early Travels Abroad Interrupted

After nursing for several years, Paie traveled overseas.  However, at age 24 her travels were abruptly interrupted when she was compelled to return home to assist her family through a tragic hit and run accident that claimed the life of her sister and best friend.  Life suddenly turned upside down with  the result being a series of spiritual awakenings over the ensuing years as she sought healing and spiritual meaning to life.

Healing her Loss in Aspen, Colorado

Her search took her abroad again as she was led to Aspen, Colorado, the ski desination to well healed americans. Over the many years that she remained there, she and her friends became a fixture on the ski slopes.   Aspen was a party town and Paie partied with the best of them.  Characters like Jack Nicolson and Hunter S. Thompson were regulars on the Aspen party scene in those days.

Paie discovers Hawaii

From  Aspen, Paie moved on to Hawaii where she settled for 8 years. It was here that she immersed herself in the alternative healing arts and advanced her spiritual quest. The beauty, magic and power of the mana on the Hawaiian island of Maui took her on many healing adventures in nature. She developed a passion for sailing and swimming with the whales and dolphins and this human-cetacean connection formed an important part of her spiritual beliefs.  The powerful Hawaiian Wisdom Teachings and the Huna path both became a strong influence and have since become the foundation of all her healing work.

Around this time, she found that the name given to her by her mother, Paie, was Polynesian and this gave her an even stronger sense of connection to the Hawaiian lands.  Life continued to unfold in synchronistic ways, leading her to natural therapies and her soul's journey as seen through Astrology.  And while she had a background in both allopathic and natural therapies, it was the holistic approach to health and well-being that she found to be her calling.

Recent Times

Today, she continues to study many of the world's Wisdom Teachings and healing modalities and draws upon the spiritual power of the Earth, the stars and planetary systems as her life continues to unfold.  Her deep love and connection to the Hawaiian teachings, bodywork, counseling and astrology keep her continually striving to learn, evolve and awaken.

In Hawaiian spirituality, the na aumakua or ancestral spirits are the intermediaries between the living and the sacred land they inhabit. The mana or vital force that powers the universe and is expressed in everything from the stars to a grain of sand flows down the hereditary channels from the major spirits (akua) to the ancestral spirits (aumakua).  The journey of healing the inner child and the adult is guided by one's aumakua or guardian spirit.  The aumakua often take the form of certain animals.

The Hawaiian Influence

The aumākua are also the ancient source gods who protect us on our earthly journey.  The aumakua or superconscious part of the mind is the consciousness involved in giving what the Hawaiians call fire immunity.  This is the mana or vital force and it is electrical in nature with strong magnetic qualities.  The invisible substance through which this vital force acts is called the aka or shadowy body stuff.  The Hawaiian's know that huna (the secret) is about the nature of natural forces.  The three elements - consciousness, force and invisible matter give us three measuring sticks with which to measure magic and this is a key underlying principal of white magic.  It is also one of the many representations of spirit that has endured through the ages and it is this connection with spirit that underpins Paie's entire practice.
