Spirit of Aloha Welcome

Our journey begins with a traditional Hawaiian welcome ceremony conducted by Aunty Mahealani followed by a sumptuous feast prepared by our hosts, Barbara and George at their lovely Kealolani property. Kealolani is a luxury Bed & Breakast located in the Puna District, or the east of the Big Island surrounded by lush jungle on all sides.

Aloha Spirit Classes

We will join Aunty to learn about Ho’ opono Pono and the essence of Hawaiian Spirituality (pono is to be fully present in the moment).  Aunty will bring forth new teachings from the Na Kupunas who communicate through her.  The Na Kupunas are Aunty’s ancestors and her own spiritual teachers.   Aunty was recently asked to bring new teachings through because of the need to accelerate our awareness and help us navigate smoothly and easily through the dramatic changes ahead.

Listen to Aunty Mahealani here:

Full Moon Celebration

On the full moon, we will join Aunty for a full moon celebration at her “office” - the warm ponds of Puna. The ponds are naturally warmed by volcanic fissures.   In Hawaii, the October full moon carries the same name as Aunty.  It is the Mahealani Full Moon and it is known as the most powerful full moon in Hawai’i. We will celebrate the full moon with traditional chants to the Ancestors and blessings.

The Magic of the Dolphins

From the beautiful Kona Coast we take a private boat out to join the year round residents of the sea, Hawaii’s own spinner dolphins.  Kona’s dolphins are wild and free and swimming with them in their natural habitat is a unique and magical experience that can touch your soul and melt your heart.  Our journey starts with a Hawaiian ceremony to greet the day and then it’s off to the adventure of a lifetime!  Simply put, the experience is transformative and it is almost impossible to describe the effect this has on people at a very deep level.  You don’t have to be a real swimmer to enjoy this experience to its fullest but you do have to like warm, tropical water.

Hula Spirit Workshop

The hula is fun, lively, sacred, light-hearted, and even satirical, solemn and ritualistic, and what determines the differences is the purpose for which it is danced. it is a great pleasure to be able to share the wonders and beauty of the hula. It is a most joyful and spiritual expression of Hawaii, its' land and its' people.  There was no written language in Hawaii so the stories were passed down through the hula.  Kumu Hula Neaulani Kuamo'o-Pec is a recognized kumu or teacher of Hula.  In her afternoon workshop, she will teach us the basics of hula and chant.  You will learn basic hula and a chant that asks for blessings from above.

Kilauea Volcano and Pele

Pele is the goddess of fire, lightening, dance and volcanoes.  Her poetic name, Ka wahine ‘ai honua means the woman who devours the land, is both creator and destroyer. She throws molten fountains into the air, governs the great flows of lava and has been known to reveal herself throughout the island of Hawaii. We will see her up close and personal as we watch the lava flows weaving their way down the mountain of Kilauea and into the ocean.  Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes.

Volcano National Park & Waterfalls

We will explore the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where we will admire genuine Hawaiian rainforests with cascading waterfalls, walk beside the gaping hale’mau’mau crater, go inside an actual lava tube, and watch eerie steam vents.

Kona

We’ll traverse the island for some free time in Kona at the farmer’s markets and around the town followed by a leisurely dinner at your choice of Kona’s many diverse restaurants.  We rise early the next day for our dolphin boat experience.

Warm Ponds

The warm ponds of Pune or Aunty’s “office” is located ocean side and consists of warm waters heated by volcanic fissures.  We will soak up the relaxing and therapeutic effects of the water as we let go and unwind.  For those who are interested, Beverly will teach lei making by the pond while Aunty and the rest of us enjoy the therapeutic pool.

Hilo Farmer’s Markets

Wander through the Hilo township and markets and encounter beautiful handcrafts and foods from Hawaii's blended cultures.  Hilo is the main township on the east side of the island and one of the reasons why the Big Island retains a genuine, traditional Hawaiian feel.

Crystal Healing Bed

Your stay at Kealolani includes a 40 minute crystal bed healing session. The bed consists of seven specially shaped crystals that align with the chakras and emit light pulses to balance and heal the energy body.  The treatment is completely harmless and produces a deep feeling of relaxation.   The bed was developed in Brazil by John of God, a world renowned spiritual healer. Additional sessions are available for US $25.

Paie’s Healing Workshop

Paie will take us through a deep healing process that will help us to let go of the past and give us a renewed sense of freedom.   After a short break, she will talk about the skills we need to foster over the next few years to navigate “smoothly and easily” through the deeply transitional times that are ahead of us.

Watsu Lomi & Traditional Lomi Lomi

Sylvia and Paie will be on hand to offer their distinct bodywork treatments. Watsui lomi treatments are done in the water.  Both Paie and Sylvia will be available by appointment.  Treatments are not included in the tour fee.
